Dr. W. James Silva
W. James Silva, MD, FAAP, FCCM
Medical Director

Dr. Silva received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, Irvine. He completed his training at the University of California, Irvine and Children's Hospital of Orange County. Dr. Silva is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care. He has provided care at all the South Bay hospitals and is currently on staff at Good Samaritan Hospital as well as Packard Children's Hospital. Dr. Silva has extensive experience in Pediatric Intensive Care and Pediatric Subacute Care.

 

Mike Zarcone
Mike Zarcone, Pharm D.,  M.S.
President and CEO

Mr. Zarcone was instrumental in carving out the current Pediatric Sub-Acute program in California. He is the founder of Subacute Saratoga Children's Hospital, as well as Scribbles and Giggles, a specialized pediatric day health center for medically-fragile children. Mr. Zarcone identified the need for a hospital dedicated to infants and small children and from that idea Children's Recovery Center was "born". Mr. Zarcone holds a Masters and Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of the Pacific and is recognized as an extremely innovative health care professional.


Marla Diamond
Marla Diamond, RN, MS, PNP
Director of Patient Care Services and COO

Ms. Diamond has been a Pediatric Nurse for almost 30 years, 20 of those in Pediatric Management. Prior to coming to the Children's Recovery Center, Marla was the Nurse Manager for the Pediatric Unit and PICU at Stanford University Medical Center and later Nurse Manager of the Infant/Toddler Unit at Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital. In addition to her experience as a Manager, Marla had the opportunity to participate in a number of start-up programs at Stanford and Packard Children's Hospital.

Ms. Diamond received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco in 1979 and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of California, San Francisco in 1984. She also received a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification from the University of California, San Francisco in 1985.

With that experience, Marla accepted the opportunity to be a part of the team that created the Children's Recovery Center. Marla has been instrumental in developing the Children's Recovery Center program together with Michael Zarcone and Dr. W. James Silva.
